You can apply for a Graduate Visa in the UK once you have successfully completed an eligible course in the UK, such as a bachelor’s degree or a postgraduate degree. To qualify, you must be 18 or above, be able to show sufficient English language proficiency and that you are able to support and maintain yourself in the UK without needing any public funds. It will give you the permission to stay in the UK for up to 2 years unless you have PHD or doctoral qualification in which case you can stay up to 3 years. You cannot extend your Graduate Visa. However, you may be able to switch to a different visa, for example a Skilled Worker visa.
The Graduate Visa does not lead directly to settlement in the UK. However, before your leave expires, you may be able to apply from within the UK to switch into another immigration route which does lead to settlement, for example the Skilled Worker route.
Applicants may be joined or accompanied by a partner and dependent children under the age of 18. Your dependent partner can work or study in the UK.
The process of applying for a Graduate Visa can be lengthy and frustrating without the right guidance. Bridge Partners have years of experience in obtaining UK visas and in-depth knowledge of this new category.
